Desert Sunsets in Watercolor

Sunday, August 4
10 am – 3 pm

This class will focus on painting the vibrant colors of southwest sunsets in watercolor. Instruction will be given in creating deeply saturated colors by layering multiple washes. A combination of wet and dry brush painting will be used to create the stark contrasts of desert landscapes. Some watercolor experience is recommended.

Ages: Adult (15+) / All Levels

Required Supplies:
•    Watercolor pallet with a variety of pigments
•    Number 6 or 4 pointed watercolor brush
•    ½” or larger flat watercolor brush
•    Graphite or mechanical pencil
•    Kneaded rubber eraser
•    Two plastic water containers
•    Roll of paper towels
•    Arches (or other artist’s grade) 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper 9” x 12” or larger
*single sheets of watercolor paper may be purchased during class for $2.00/sheet
