The Scholastic Art Awards

The Museum invites middle and high school students in Carson City, Churchill, Douglas, Elko, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lyon, Mineral, Pershing, Storey, Washoe, and White Pine counties to compete for local, regional, and national scholarships and recognition through the Scholastic Art Awards.

More than 2,000 submissions are received annually, and award-winning student artwork is shown in a month-long exhibition celebrating the achievements of the young artists. Over $6,000 in scholarship funds are distributed at the Awards Ceremony, attended by over 500 guests from across northern Nevada. Students receiving the Gold Key award go on to compete at the national level.
