Summer Camp: Fun with Clay

Kids ages 7 – 12 will have fun exploring the tactile nature of clay.  Instruction will encompass basic hand building, throwing on the wheel, and sculpture.  In this 5 day camp, students will learn about the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of kiln. This will be a fun and educational class.  All works will be fired in the Museums’ kiln. All materials are included.

Covid 19 Museum School Policies:

 

– All students will be requested to wear a mask for the duration of their visit inside the Museum school. Mask will be provided upon request.

– Please exercise social distancing when in close proximity to other students and staff. Class sizes and seating arrangements have been changed to allow for 6 feet of social distance.

– Please note, snacks and drinks will no longer be distributed during class. Students are encouraged to bring their own personal water bottle and snack if needed to class.

– Please do not attend class if you or anyone in your household (including anyone who you have experience close contact with over the last 14 days) are feeling ill. To request a refund or options to reschedule please email Jen.Henry@nevadaart.org

CANCELED: Kids ages 11 and up will have fun playing on the Museum’s iPad Pros as they work on story-boarding, character design and animation in this five day camp. Students will also have an opportunity to explore and sketch using the iPads in the Museum’s galleries while looking for inspiration for their own work. A snack and all materials are included with registration.

This class will feature special discussion on art inspired by nature. A daily snack and all materials are included with registration.

Kids’ Corner: Handmade Holiday Cards

Kids of all ages will enjoy creating a variety of handmade holiday cards with their parents. Families will create cards together in this fun and messy holiday class. Class will be run as a two-hour open studio and families are encouraged to stay for as little or as long as they would like.
