Art High: Clay Intensive

Monday – Friday, March 28 – April 1 / 1 – 4 pm

Teens ages 13 – 18 will have fun exploring the tactile nature of clay.  Instruction will encompass basic hand building, throwing on the wheel, and sculpture.  In this 5 day intensive for teens, students will learn about the basics of pottery, glazing and the transformation of their pieces from the heat of kiln. This will be a fun and educational class.  All works will be fired in the Museums’ kiln. All materials are included.

Summer Camp: Fun with Clay

Kids’ Corner: Animal Illustration

Wednesdays, April 6 – May 4 / 3:30 – 5:30 pm

Young artists will enjoy exploring both contemporary and historical references of animals in art. Referencing the Museum’s exhibition “The Horse,” special attention will be paid to learning how to draw the horse.  All materials and a snack are included with registration.

Kids’ Corner: Experiments in Watercolor

Wednesdays, February 17 – March 16 / 3:30 – 5:30 pm

Young artists will enjoy exploring watercolor painting techniques in this fun after-school series. Students will work on combining materials (like salt and wax) to create texture in their paintings, will play with a variety of reference materials and will enjoy a fun an interactive classroom environment as they learn and explore together. All materials and a snack are included with registration.
