Summer Art Camp for Kids: Famous Artist’s

Kids ages 7 – 12 will have fun exploring a variety of art mediums in this fun and interactive camp. Over this five-day camp, participants will have the opportunity to hand-build clay sculptures, paint mini-masterpieces and sketch in the Museum galleries. A daily snack and all materials are included with registration.

The Art of Movement – A Virtual Camp for Kids

Get up and move that body! Collateral & Co. presents a series of movement classes designed for kids and inspired by work from the Museum’s exhibitions. This interactive class combines video demonstration as well as live interactive instruction.

This virtual art camp will be held online through Zoom. Camp will meet daily Tuesday – Thursday from noon to 1 pm. While the camp will be held virtually, your registration will include admission to the Museum for you and your family for the week of your chosen camp and we encourage you to visit!

Each week we will focus on three artists and will explore themes found in the exhibition and techniques inspired by the artists. This week’s theme is “People and Places” and will focus on the work of artists Romare Beardon, Jacob Almstead Lawrence and Caitlin Cherry.

This virtual art camp will be held online through Zoom. Camp will meet Tuesday – Thursday from 10 am – noon. An art kit is included with your registration and can be picked up at the Museum in advance. Kids’ Corner: Clay Exploration

Kids ages 8 – 14 will have fun exploring a variety of ceramic techniques in this fun and interactive five-week series. Students will be introduced to clay and have an opportunity to learn, practice and improve on their hand building and wheel throwing skills.

Growing Artist Series: Art Adventures for 2 – 6 years

The Growing Artist Series is designed for young artists ages 2 – 6 and their parents. On the third Saturday of each month, children will be encouraged to create art alongside their adult. Each month offers an exploration of different art mediums and basic art skills, introducing little ones to the building blocks of art that will provide a solid foundation for future art lovers and artists.  This unique creative experience places an emphasis on having fun while exploring. This class is an open studio “drop-in” format to accommodate short attention spans, but registration is required.

Young Artist Series: Summer Digital Art Camp

Kids ages 11 and up will have fun playing on the Museum’s iPad Pros as they work on story-boarding, character design and animation in this five day camp. Students will also have an opportunity to explore and sketch using the iPads in the Museum’s galleries while looking for inspiration for their own work. All materials are included with registration.
