Escape into the era of Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement through Victorian literature. This month and next, this online book club will discuss North and South by Elizabeth Haskell, following the story of Margaret Hale, a young woman from southern England who is forced to move north after her father leaves the clergy. There she witnesses the changes wrought by the Industrial Revolution, seeing employers and workers clashing in the first strikes.
