Virtual First Thursday: Jammal Tarkington

In response to the health and safety guidelines for Covid-19, traditional First Thursday has been temporarily postponed. In the meantime, tune in for a special broadcast featuring music and interviews with longtime Reno musician Jammal Tarkington, art introductions, and more fun. The program will premiere on the Museum’s Facebook page, where you can engage in a real-time conversation with fellow participants. 2+ sheets of water color paper (5×7 – 8×10)
water color or acrylic paints (red blue yellow white + other colors if available)
white glue
black paper (equivalent of 2 9×12 sheets, construction paper best, magazine pages with black OK, too)
scissors
pencil
2 water container containers, one for clean water, one for brush rinsing
paper towels
lunch or dinner size ceramic or plastic plate to mix paints
medium paint brush 1/2″ square/flat or medium round

Escape into the era of Victorian Radicals: From the Pre-Raphaelites to the Arts & Crafts Movement through classic literature. This month, we conclude our reading of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, following the story of a young orphan in Victorian England. In April and May, participants will read North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.
