Educator Evening: Inquiring Minds Want to Know: Ichthyosaur Stories

Join Megan Bellister, Nell J. Redfield Curator of Learning and Engagement, and learn about Nevada’s early and present-day paleontologists and fossil hunters in the exhibition Sea Dragons of Nevada. Learn about Nevada’s state fossil alongside Next Generation Science Standards, English Language Arts Standards, and Nevada Social Studies Standards. Presentation followed by a wine reception.

Back-to-School Night for Educators 2024

Nevada’s PreK-12 educators are invited to a special in-person back-to-school night. Enjoy access to the Museum’s exhibitions, a DJ, small bites and a bar. Participate in hands-on activities and a raffle.

Education providers will be present to share teaching resources, including Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, Desert Research Institute, The Discovery, Discovery Education, Doodles Academy, Fleischmann Planetarium and Science Center, Great Basin Outdoor School, The Holland Project, Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, The Lilley Museum of Art, Nevada Arts Council, Nevada Math, Nevada Museum of Art, Reno Philharmonic, Sierra Nevada Journeys, University of Nevada Reno Art Department, and Washoe Co. Library System.
