Early Childhood Education Roundtable

Through monthly meetings and workshops, a cohort of early childhood educators use the Museum to explore questions about the dynamic, multi-modal learning that results from creative play and inquiry-based early childhood learning in the more informal environments of museums and other public educational spaces.

STEAM for Teaching and Learning

Join educators from around Northern Nevada to explore ideas about incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) learning into your classrooms. A dynamic keynote address by famed landscape architect Cheryl Barton, titled “The Theory of Here” will address climate change and resilience through design. The day also includes hands-on workshops and ways to translate ideas learned into classroom activities. A continental breakfast, lunch and a late afternoon reception will be provided. The Nevada Museum of Art, the Desert Research Institute, Northern Nevada RPDP and Sustainable Nevada are working together to offer a unique training opportunity. There is no cost to attend this training and participants are eligible to receive 0.5 in-service credit.
