Educator Evening: Visual Arts and Critical Thinking

Local educators are invited to this FREE special series on the first Wednesday of every month (excluding January and July). Join Charles N. Mathewson Curator of Education Colin M. Robertson for a presentation, discussion and activity exploring visual arts and critical thinking as they relate to the Nevada Academic Content Standards. A light reception will follow the presentation. Teacher in-service credit is available for participating in the Educator Evenings. Earn 0.5 teacher in-service credit for attending five Educator Evenings and 1.0 credit for attending ten during August 1 through July 31 timeframe. Please check with the State of Nevada to see if credit may be applied to your area of licensure.

Celebrate the Year of the Monkey 

Themed around the Chinese Lunar New Year, participants will enjoy a Chinese Dance and Cultural Presentation by Xian Na “Sonia” Carlson and her group of traditional Chinese dancers. Themed art projects and storytelling will continue to explore Chinese traditions surrounding the New Year. All visitors will enjoy free admission all day.
