Glass Bead Workshop
CANCELED: Create five or more beads in this three hour intensive introductory glass blowing course taught by Mantra Glass Art. You will explore the beautiful world of boroscillicate glass utilizing clear, colored rod and color changing rods. Learn more about the process of melting glass and annealing your finished pieces in our kilns! All clear glass and color glass is provided with the cost of the class.
Students will focus on:
1. Turning their torches on and operating neutral, oxidized and reduced flame techniques. Safety and material practices are covered.
2. Learn how to wrap mandrils with glass to create beautiful bead forms while exploring dot, raked patterns and more!
3. Students will have open studio time for two hours to create their own work after learning the basics.

Felted Animals and Ornaments
This class is a perfect introduction to the world of fiber. Needle felting is the art of sculpting wool with a specially designed, barbed needle. Stabbing the wool repeatedly creates a firm, textile object. Needle-felting is an ideal craft in that it is easy to learn, requires minimal supplies and can be completed anywhere!

Kids ages 11 and up will have fun playing on the Museum’s iPad Pros as they work on story-boarding, character design and animation in this five day camp. Students will also have an opportunity to explore and sketch using the iPads in the Museum’s galleries while looking for inspiration for their own work. All materials are included with registration.
