Designed with K-12 educators in mind, this workshop will explore classroom practices related to diversity, equity, access and inclusion (DEAI) in the classroom and will provide tools to assess and develop intentionality. Photography Techniques

This class will be hosted virtually. Registered students will be given a self-paced video for week one with an assignment. The following four weeks will meet live on Zoom and will explore photography techniques. Each week will focus on a new topic including composition, color, scale and light. Weekly Zoom meeting will include demos as well as group critiques. Students will use the week in between classes to shoot independently while focusing on the current topic. Students will submit via email two to three images per week to the instructor for inclusion in the weekly class review.

Introduction to Landscape Photography (Hybrid)

Landscape photography is one of the best ways to not only express yourself as a photographer, but also learn more about your camera and the skills it takes to make an impactful image.

This course introduces students to how to create amazing landscape photos by getting the most out of their camera, as well as the skillset and workflow that is required for the genre of landscape photography. Class topics include proper camera settings for landscape shots, required gear for landscape work, including must have items and optional accessories, composition do and don’t for landscape photography, tips and tricks for natural and city landscapes, HDR, and post-production workflows for image enhancement.

This class is being offered in a hybrid format, with some content being presented online via recordings on Vimeo, live class sessions hosted on Zoom as well as a one day location shoot.

Week 3:  Location shoot. Students will meet a location and time to be determined later, to practice the skills they have learned. Current health guidelines and social distancing will be followed. NOTE: If you are joining this class and outside the region, you can shoot independently with recommendations from your instructor.

Week 4: Follow up Zoom meeting were students will have 1-2 images from the location shoot critiqued, as well as an opportunity to ask any final questions.

Exploring Cyanotypes (Virtual Course)

Explore printmaking in this virtual studio class. Instructor will provide basic instruction to create cyanotype prints. Class recordings along with live demonstrations and interactions will develop fundamental skills and concepts while exploring the history of the medium.
