The Work Ethic Collection was founded with a generous gift to support acquisitions around the theme of the work ethic in American art. The collection includes paintings that depict laborers, work environments, and workers at rest. Highlights of this collection include works by Carl Oscar Borg, Lorser Feitelson, Lovell Birge Harrison, Helen Lundeberg, Guy Pene du Bois, Elsie Palmer Payne, Jacob Getlar Smith, and Moses Soyer.
