Contemporaries with whom he can be compared include Patrick Dougherty, Chris Drury, and Andy Goldsworthy.

Scope and Content

The majority of Frost's career has been devoted to creating sculptural interventions in outdoor environments using locally found materials. The catalogs, exhibition announcements and press materials in the archive are related to his works of this nature created from 1986-2011. Frost, who has been in residence in numerous countries in order to create his site-specific works, belongs in the company of other late 20th-century UK artists creating works on site from local materials, such as Andy Goldsworthy and Christ Drury. His work deploys various geometries in juxtaposition with organic forms. In particular, Frost often weaves plant materials, such as reeds, into radially symmetrical objects that occupy wetlands.
