Grammy-Nominated Recording Artist John Fullbright – Presented by For The Song

Join John Fullbright for a special evening of Americana Music in the Nightingale Skyroom. John Fullbright is a Grammy-nominated, American Folk singer-songwriter from Okemah, Oklahoma. He began playing piano at the age of five and was performing in folk festivals by the time he was in high school. Fullbright was a founding member of the Turnpike Troubadours and the Mike McClure Band before beginning his solo career. Fullbright has released multiple albums including From the Ground Up, which received a Grammy nomination in the category Best Americana Album.

“At the beginning of his career, John Fullbright was considered one of the fastest-rising names in the Americana scene, validated by a Grammy nomination. Now an album released eight years later into a musical world where there are dozens of rising names, and some in independent country and Americana have become outright superstars, the threat is that it gets overlooked. But the talent has never waned from Fullbright. And no matter how conflicted he might feel about it, his music deserves attention.”

— Saving Country Music

“In a short-attention-span world overloaded with sensory stimulation, there aren’t many artists who can stop you in your tracks with a single song, let alone repeat the feat through an entire album. But with Songs – a seemingly simple title that says all it needs to while perfectly encapsulating its contents’ understated brilliance – Fullbright and producer Wes Sharon do exactly that. Albums like this one don’t come along very often. But then, artists like John Fullbright don’t, either. Here’s hoping he’ll amaze us for a very long time.”

— American Songwriter

*Doors open at 5:30pm with a cash bar

About For the Song:

The For The Song Fund has been established by Patrons from the Arrowcreek Community and The Club at Arrowcreek to provide support for nationally touring, critically acclaimed but lesser recognized artists to play one or more shows in our Reno/Tahoe community. The music business model for lesser-known musicians has been severely impacted by streaming, making touring the only realistic revenue source. Radius clauses and tight margins at traditional venues constrain touring revenues to the point that Northern Nevada often misses out on extraordinary talent. Patronage is the answer! For the Song Patrons fund private and public shows, making multiple-performance visits to Reno/Tahoe productive for great artists who may not otherwise offer their art here.
